St John Methodist Church Bryndwr

The St John Methodist Church Bryndwr was damaged in the september 2010 & February 2011 earthquakes, the restoration invloved seismically upgrading it to 67% of Code, replacing and repairing damaged stonework and stained glass windows, stripping all of the timber linings, upgrading and repairing the sturcture and replacing the timber. The organ was required to be removed for the repairs which was subsequently cleaned and restored.The Hall was also seismically strengthened. FRTA worked closely with Arrow International, stone masons, stain glass experts and other specialists to complete the building to a high standard becoming one of the first stone churches in Christchurch to have it's earthquake repairs fully completed and open to the public.
