The St John Methodist Church Bryndwr was damaged in the september 2010 & February 2011 earthquakes, the restoration invloved seismically upgrading it to 67% of Code, replacing and repairing damaged stonework and stained glass windows, stripping all of the timber linings, upgrading and repairing the sturcture and replacing the timber. The organ was required to be removed for the repairs which was subsequently cleaned and restored. The Hall was also seismically strengthened.
