Grubb Cottage

A satisfying & unique project involving the conservation restoration of a very early Lyttelton home, built in 1851 on the first piece of land sold by the Canterbury Association once the pre-purchased land had been distruibuted. The house had various works and extensions to it throughout its time. When FRTA got invloved it was in a state of disrepair. FRTA worked closely with the Christchurch City Council and affected parties to retain as much of the heritage fabric and restored it as a museum exhibit.
